After many months of hard work and dedication to her goal, Chloe and Rori (Vanoca Park Aurora) achieve their goal of competing at Barry Hillier Horse Trials. A bonus for all thier hard work was that they gained 3rd place.
Rori came to live with us as a yearling. Ruth found her in the $1000 and under section of Horse Deals. I thought she was not really a necessary addition, but Ruth was determined so Rori arrived. While the cutest button from day one Rori has had a big horse attitude to life and has demonstrated a very dertimed ability to just do her own thing if the desire takes her. Subsequently, she is not for the faint hearted and we have never really had a suitable smaller, but determined and talented rider that could persuade her that being ridden and competitions is fun. That is until Chloe joined our team. Together they have gone from very naughty and yes sometimes extremely bad pony performers to placing at dressage and now HT.
Chloe set a goal and was successful
In December Chloe announced that she would like to try and prepare Rori for the Barry Hillier Horse Trials. This does not sound that big a deal but Rori was a bit of an urban cowgirl and had never realy been on a xcountry course or really out of an arena or paddock. So over the summer we made plans and put them into action. Rori was introduced to big paddock experiences, galloping, swimming in the dam (which was a story in itself), and jumping both showjumping and xcountry. It all paid off with a great day at Barry Hillier.
Chloe has made a video of some of her journey with Rori
Congratulations Chloe and Rori.
Cheers and happy riding.
