At Arandth Performance Horses we focus and pride ourselves on having happy, healthy horses.  We understand and appreciate that happy horses make for happy owners/riders.   We adopt a holistic approach to our care and training of both horse and rider and strive to develop a culture, philosophy and physical environment to assist you, along with your horse, to achieve your goals.

We like to think of our clients as part of our extended team and enjoy supporting them towards achieving their goals and celebrating with them their successes, or conversely encouraging them to keep going when it would seem the odds are against them.

But mostly we just love horses!   If you choose to place your horse with us we promise to look after your horse like it was our own.

The story behind the name “ARANDTH” (A – rand – eth)

Arandth Performance Horses has been operating for approximately 30 + years. In the beginning we were known as Arandth Performance Arabians as we were heavily into Arabian Derivatives.  We showed at all the large A and AA shows in Victoria and NSW with predominantely, Anglo Arabians, Arabian Warmbloods and Partbreds both in hand and undersaddle with great success.

When we were deciding on our name and stud prefix we went through many options as everyone does and none of our choices were available.

At the time many large Arabian breeders had adopted the option of naming their stud after the principal personalities in the stud.

So we decided to do the same and the result “Arandth” pronounced “A – rand – eth” is a combination of Andrea and Ruth.

A number of years ago as we moved away from exclusively breeding Arabian Derivatives and as our operation became broader we changed the name to Arandth Performance Horses.  However, all our home bred horses are still Arabian Derivatives.

Dedicated to developing every horse and horse/rider combination to being truly the best that they can be.

Lives by the rule “never never ever give up as you just don’t know how close success is”.

Being a successful competition rider Andrea understands the needs and attention to detail a successful competition horse and rider require.

Affectionately known by her team as “the tail and keeper police” as she goes mental if she sees someone brushing the bottom of a dry tail and can’t stand straps left out of keepers.

Career Highlights

Andrea with Gilgarra Guinness

Andrea spent most of her early years competing in horse trials up to 1 * level.  These many years of experience can now be passed on to the next generation of fearless eventers.

Since focusing solely on dressage Andrea has competed successfully up to EA PSG and HRCAV Advanced winning level Championships/Jackpots at a variety of levels on a regular basis.

A highlight of Andrea’s competition success is that many of the horses she has been successful with have been started, educated and campaigned solely by her.  There is no better feeling than successfully attaining your goals on a horse you have built a relationship with from birth such as the beautiful but now retired Arandth Remembrance.

Also Andrea has a great talent for rehabilitating horses that have “problems” either mentally or physically.  Although this journey can be long and frustrating, the rewards for all concerned can be great.  Andrea’s love for horses above all else along with her many years of experience working with young and problem horses and her determination to succeed has restored many horses to successful and happy competition prospects.  The star of her present team is the gorgeous Gilgarra Guinness who has gone from problem child to super dressage pony extraordinaire!

As a coach Andrea has shared some amazing moments with pupils supporting and guiding them towards achieving their goals.  Many of her pupils have placed highly at Pony Club State Horse Trials, HRCAV TTT championships, Showing and EA Horse Trials and Dressage.  Supporting others along their riding journey is what team Arandth is about and we will always strive to keep pushing others to keep improving, continue learning and most of all loving and enjoying their horses.
